Default $3,000 in 45 days + $2,000 in 30 days + $600 in 3 days... Real Warrior case study

Hi fellow Warriors:
It's no surprise to me that so many posts, comments, and questions that I see on the Warrior forum are from newbies trying to figure out ways to make some extra money online. And I got to thinking, I've generated VERY fast money online doing things that any newbie or experienced marketer can do.

Feeling inspired by a large new deal that literally fell into my lap, I wanted to share a few models that either myself or my past customers have used to being in money FAST doing things that really anyone can do.

Case study 1: Public Domain content + WordPress blog = $3,000 profit in 45 days.

Something like that can be done 1,000,000 times. There's no end to the content needed to make this happen. All I did was find 3 public domain books in one of the 23 best-selling niches I've identified, and then set up a niche WordPress blog.

I then copied and pasted the content of that book over a period of 45 days doing 1 to 3 posts a day. I also posted my affiliate links to related books on Amazon, ClickBank, and Commission Junction. And of course, AdSense. After 45 days I listed the blog for sale and it very quickly sold for a little over $3,000.

This is a model that anyone can follow. It's dead-simple. If you're a worker, you can develop one of these sites a day and use the automated blog posting feature in WordPress to post your content to free up your time.

Once your bankroll builds, you can do what I do, and that's outsource 99% of the work. Once you're cranking out 3-5 of these sites every single day, you can imagine what starts to happen after 45 days if all you want to do is flip these sites. I won't even post what your earnings look like even selling the sites for just $1000 after 45 days.

Do the math. It works and it's proven.

I also "mini-flip" niche blogs with Public Domain content in as little as 3 days:

I compile 1 or 2 public domain books, let´s say about "public speaking", I choose a killer free WP theme, split the content into 21 blog posts, setup the adsense and all the rest, and then sell the blog 3 days later, for anything between $200 to $600...

Not bad for 60 minutes of work.

Of course, I have a system setup, and all I do is just to select the public domain books. All the rest is outsourced for dirt-cheap.

Remember that:

1. Most people are lazy.

2. Not everybody knows and/or wants to setup a blog (or anything) and fill it with good content (from the mighty Public Domain).

Your content is great (written by great authors, not PLR-crap ghostwriters)... and hardly indexed.

3. Therefore, there are lots of eager buyers ready to buy...

Case study 2: Setting up a 900-page AdSense site with Public Domain articles. Sold for $1,500 in 30 days.

A student of mine needed money quickly and wanted to do a quick flip. All he did was copy and paste 3 public domain books into a site - 900 pages of Public Domain content, added his AdSense ads, and then put the site up for sale. Sold the site for $1,500.

Of course, he used software to automate the page building.

You can of course make much more by holding onto these types of websites and building an empire (heck, now he flips 5 sites like that each month), but sometimes you need money fast and you can do these quick flips any time you need to.

Case study 3: Public Domain Halloween images + mini site = $3,000 profit in 19 days.

I found a bunch of old Halloween images that were in the public domain.

All I did was package them up, wrote a couple of paragraphs about what is included, showed a few examples, and offered the whole package of images with full rights for $17. Sold 203 packages in October. Spent $300 on a few ads, total profit: Over $3,000.

Total time it took me to put the above together - about 3 hours max.

You can build thousands of these sites in tens of thousands of niches. The above is the smallest one I have. A similar site I have where I used the same method makes MUCH more than this all the time. I'm just saying this so you know you can use the above method any time of the year. Not just Holidays.

Case study 4: Student searches Government website, compiles its Public Domain material, makes $2,000 first month.

This is a great overlooked niche: Student Loans.

A student friend of mine put together an ebook about student loans. He obtained all of the information from a BIG public domain supplier who spits out tons (millions) of content... the US Government!

Took him a few days to put everything together, made over $2,000 profit first month, $5,000 the second month - and continues to sell ebooks like crazy. Where does he sell it? On FaceBook and student forums.

Yes, someone could have easily done all of the research and got the info for free themselves, but there is a TON of money to be made packaging up Public Domain content and information that anyone could obtain and selling it for massive profits.

The above are just some small case studies to show you some quick ways you can make money with Public Domain as fast as TODAY.

Of course there are stories about $10,000 here, $100,000 there, and even millions, but I know if I shared some of those stories with you, most of you wouldn't think it's possible.

The above numbers are small, so it's easy for you to say, "yes, I can do that", and then you do.

As you start making money with Public Domain, and as more and more rolls in, you set your goals higher... and before you know it, making $50,000 profit in a month for a few hours of work doesn't scare you any more.

PS: you will discover more Case Studies, insights and answers to Warriors questions throughout this entire thread.

All the best,
Kneb

I am aware of Project Gutenburg for books but it would be interesting to know where you source Public Domain images from. Also some information on confirming they are public domain after sourcing them.

Hey guys, putting up 900 posts is an unreal amount of work. I've got two words for you "caffeinated content". Use it, mix it up with your articles, PLR, etc. and affiliate/adsense/cpa monetization and you are good to go. 'nuff said, go make some money.

* Public Domain content?

Here you go:

http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page

You should start here. Many uncovered bestselling gems.

Do a search for your niche keywords, and also for "how to", "course", "handbook", "report", "study", etc...

Of course,

Here we go:

* Case Study #4 (2.0)

Want to have a killer bestselling report on Student Loans?

A hot niche.

1. Go to USASearch.gov : The U.S. Government's Official Web Search

2. Put "student loans" on the search box.

3. There you have it: lots and lots of free-for-the-taking Public Domain content that you can use in any way you wish.

4. Set up a blog on the subject and use the info for your blog posts.

5. Compile the best info into a good report on pdf.

6. Set up a minisite selling the report.

7. Pre-sell the book on your blog.

8. Sell it through Facebook (and other related student sites).

9. Hire some forum posters to post on related student forums, with a signature pointing to your blog and to your minisite.

10. Enjoy a new source of income, maybe forever.

Or: just sell the blog weeks later for 1,000s

Think of another niche?

"Foreclosures"

Another hot niche right now...

1. Do a search on "foreclosures"

2. Repeat the above process.

Another one?

"How to sell your house"

1. Do a search on "How to sell your house"

2. Repeat the above process.

Well,

Any work published on US before 1923 is clearly in the Public Domain.

This only will give you free access and reprint rights to millions upon millions of bestselling content, ready to monetize in any way you want.

That includes any book, text, article, photograph, clipart, graphics, artwork, audio, music track, music sheet, script, plays, videos, movies, etc...

Any work published between 1923 and 1963 is in the Public Domain IF the copyright is not renewed in its 28th year after publication.

And, believe it or not, 93% (!!) of those works were never renewed.

So again, there you have millions and millions of free-for-the-taking ready-made bestselling products for you to use in any way you want.

That includes also any book, text, article, photograph, clipart, graphics, artwork, audio, music track, music sheet, script, plays, videos, movies, etc...

I hope this helps

Thanks very much for the tips.

I'm a newbie to the forum. I have been designing and building websites from scratch for clients for about 10 years, but want to make something for myself that can generate some extra income, self sustain.

The biggest issue I've had is what project do I start with? So many interesting ideas, I want to commit my energy to one and focus on that, instead of being scattered.

Thanks again!

Awesome kneb!

I think most people overcomplicate stuff and never think of using public domain as content for their site. Including me that is.. Haha..

Gonna start using public domain..

Do you have to quote or give them credit in your writing? Also is stuff issued by the government public domain if it isn't that old? Can you still use that? Also would you want to throw up one of your $100k examples, I know I would love to see it.

Kneb,

Question for you: If I go and and use usa.gov and do a search on a particular topic, are you saying that anything that I find from that search can be used by me in any way that I choose?

Could you please clarify this info? Because I just did a search on one topic and found info on that topic that was published/revised in 2006. Can I use this info without any legal problems?

Thanks!

I looked on wikipedia and according to their information anything the government puts out is considered public domain. So I believe it is legal.

Great post and examples. I followed one of your link and digged bit into these links and found this :-

"Mortgage Refinancing Worksheet"

"A Consumer's Guide to Mortgage Refinancings"

Two ready made products.

But how can you tell that these are in Public Domain

Great post. You've put paid to the "how can I make money?" threads for sure with this. I wonder how many people who are struggling to make money will see this and run with it. If you're reading this... really, you have NO more excuses. Period. You can even do this if you have little or no web marketing experience. Very cool case studies. Well done.

All the Federal Government works ARE in the Public Domain, by law.

So yes, you can use any content from that site in any way you want...

There you have it: millions of great content, professionally written, already researched... ready-made products for you to use...

Nothing to do with your usual PLR and RR stuff... this is simply another level... the Major League.

If there´s one good thing about Government, is precisely this one.

Hi Kneb,

Thanks for the post. I have a couple of questions if you don't mind.

The public domain stuff is all very old right?

So say I type in 'golf' that is going to bring up info on golf.

But surely all info on golf from say 1947 isn't really going to be of interest to anyone?
Info is outdated and the language 'old style'.

So why would anyone buy a blog like that?

My other question is if you take info from some these sites, how can you tell people that it is original content?
As you have taken it from a site that has been indexed by google?

Would they not just do a search on one of your articles and it shows the original as well?

How would your blog get ranked well if it isn't original content?

cheers

I have tried flipping model but when it comes to sell the site,
it becomes very hard ...do not know what i missing...I have
flipped some site successfully but sellers were not willing to

Generally, nobody wants to pay money for a site with no traffic and which doesn't show proof of current revenue.

WHOA! You totally went the extra mile here. I've
bookmarked this thread - and thanks for the reply.

I also have your book and it ROCKS, which reminds
me, I need to post a little blurb on your wso.

Not too many people go into this much detail as
to how they are making $ online publicly like this.

You have given away thousands of potential site,
blog, membership site, etc. ideas away freely in
your replies to others here.

My hat is off to you for freely sharing so much
info!

Well,

US Government...

Take a look:

PD Graphics from USA.gov

Look what I found inserting the keyword "graphics"

Huh??

Amazing resource of READY-TO-SELL hundreds of PD graphics...

I just compiled the ones I liked for my niche, setup a video showing the images and put up a site selling the graphic packages...

Easy Money...

And I did this for 13 (!) different niches...

13 different sources of income... thanks to the US Government

Just do your searches and you will be amazed.

More examples?

Do you have a blog and want to add some high quality images?

Go here:

Killer images to help tell your story...

Not to mention that you can use the images to make Youtube videos and craft your story-telling...

Another one?

Uses? Aside of selling them?

Use them for your blogs, for your sites, for your videos, for your ebooks and reports, for your banners, for your headers, for your templates, etc...

And this is just a glimpse of how many millions of PD images you can find and use...

Of course, I can´t give you my "secret" links to mind-blowing PD images and artwork (this wouldn´t be fair to my customers)... but you can get the idea...

Oh, I forgot this killer "best of" resource (you can really thank me for this one):

Lee, what the federal government produces, is in the public domain (with some exceptions) if it was created by an employee during his work time for the government. BUT you have to differentiate - stuff created by state government does not has to be in the public domain, they have the right to copyright their work.

Also be careful, if you search for content at USA.gov - the search machine does not differentiate between state government and federal government, so you have to check first on what site you are. Also states have now the.gov domain, and even cities are getting now.gov domains.

But in general when you search for federal material, it is in the public domain and does not have to be that old. Even they tell you i.e. at GPO, what their bestellers are

If it is downloadable content, then you can take a look in the fineprint of the files. Or on some websites you will have the possibility to order them for free, i.e. the Pueblo site.

Thanks!
You have to chenck out if it content produced by the federal government or state government. State Government has the right to copyright it. Also you have to make sure that the material is stuff governement licensed to use it - because on a lot of websites I see now Istock photos, and they are are not in the public domain. Do you have a link to look over it (if you want to you can pm it to me).

If you include PD content within your eBook, does that mean that you can't copyright the publication? Or is it possible to "partially" copyright it?

Kneb, that is not always true - some government agencies are excempt, i.e. here

United States Secret Service

Other excemptions are for instance USPTO.gov and some Jet Propulsion Labs, but they are anyway to technical so only some geeks would read that stuff.

You cannot claim copyright on public domain content, you have to change it big time - like rewriting. But it doesn't mean that you cannot earn money with it. I have in the moment a client who wants to have a lot of books scanned and believe me there is is a lot of interesting content

Thanks for the post. I have a couple of questions if you don't mind.

The public domain stuff is all very old right?

So say I type in 'golf' that is going to bring up info on golf.
Not really, for instance I concentrate myself on copyrightfree material that was published between the 1950's -1960's --- why? because the language is almost the same as it is today, so I do not have so much a problem to rewrite the whole content to give it a modern language. Let me give you an example to go with "Golf" - there are some Golf books out published in the 1950's that you could use as a home study course or as content for websites ready to go - with images, text and graphics that shows you how to swing the club etc.

Timo

Yeah... I was just scratching the surface...

Thanks Timo, for the heads up.

* PD Government Works (rules):

Public Domain does NOT apply when the work has been performed for the government by a third party (an independent contractor).

Also, usually a federal government website will have a link at the bottom (Website Policy) confirming that the content is public domain...

But not always. If you can´t find it, just put this code into the Google search:

"public-domain site:---.gov"

or,

"permission site:---.gov"

(change the ---.gov for the actual site you are searching)

If after that, there´s still no luck, you can rely on this:

1. Make sure the site is in fact a federal site. States + local government ARE NOT public domain... Just federal websites (with the exceptions pointed out by Timo).

2. Make sure the work is not made (entirely or in part) by an independent contractor (which will be stated or credited).

3. There is a copyright notice in it?

And the easiest thing (and common sense):

- Contact the site directly and ask: they will give you the answer.

There are also some other exceptions:

- The Smithsonian Institute + Amtrak + the US Postal Service (USPS)

They are federal agencies whose works are copyrighted (not in the Public Domain)...

Except (and this is a thing that I love) USPS stamps older than 1978 (!)

That´s right: all stamps made by the US government prior to 1978 ARE in the Public Domain...

I´ve sold many digitized copies of them

You can check out this Wikipedia link to bookmark it for future reference:

Copyright status of work by the U.S. government - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hope this clears things a bit more...
